hey there,
I'm brittany
My relationship with photography has grown through a lifetime of observation and listening - to space, to story, to energy, and to how things are felt as much as they are seen.
I came to storytelling through fine art, where the study of shape, movement, light, and emotion taught me how to notice what sits beneath the surface. That way of seeing later found form through my work as an interior designer. I created deeply intentional residential spaces under my own practice and spent over a decade designing hospitality and retail spaces for multi-national brands operating across the globe. Working at this scale gave me an intimate understanding of how built environments shape experience across cultures and continents - how guests move through a space, how clients engage and buy-in, how atmosphere, materiality, and light influence how we feel, behave, and remember.
Before ever calling myself a photographer, I spent years curating spaces, styling shoots, assisting photographers, and learning through close observation. I immersed myself in the craft of visual storytelling - how composition guides attention, how light carries mood, how restraint often speaks louder than excess. My vast experience as a designer, stylist, and brand owner has made me an expert in brand and built environment stories.
Alongside my creative work, I have walked a deeply personal healing path. This led me to train as a transformational coach, embodiment facilitator, and yoga teacher. Much of my photographic work grew from the communities and environments I was naturally part of - retreats, surf hotels, wellness spaces, and values-led brands - where care, intention, and presence are not aesthetic choices, but ways of being.
Travel, landscape, and place-based work continue to shape how I see. I am deeply inspired by wild environments, elemental textures, and the quiet intelligence of the natural world. This sensitivity carries through my work with sustainable brands and considered spaces, where storytelling is rooted in honesty, restraint, and respect for both people and planet. My love of travel and culture has led me to living and working around the world, to understand the distinct rhythm, energy, and magic of each place. I deeply appreciate work that involves travel and immersion into culture and heritage, and I have a personal love for chasing wild landscapes and natural light.
What sets my work apart lives in the way these threads weave together. My background in art and design gives me a strong visual and spatial foundation; my work as a hospitality and retail brand owner has taught me how stories come alive for guests and clients; and my intuitive sensitivity allows me to feel the underlying essence of people and places - what is present beneath what is said or shown. I don’t photograph to impose a narrative, but to translate what is already there so others can understand and feel the truth before putting words to it.
At its core, my work is about presence. I create imagery that is rooted in story, informed by lived experience, and aligned with values - work that moves beyond surface aesthetics and becomes an embodied experience.
If any of this resonates with you and you’re seeking imagery that feels considered and true to the experience you’re living or offering, I’d love to explore what we might create together.
